During his studies in Quebec, David Turcotte performed Frank in Die Fledermaus (J. Strauss), the roles of the Cat and the Tree in L'Enfant et les Sortilèges (Ravel), Presto in Les Mamelles de Tirésias (Poulenc), Toby in The Medium (Menotti), Pinellino and Guccio in Gianni Schicchi (Puccini), Guglielmo in Così fan tutte (Mozart), Masetto in Don Giovanni (Mozart), Bobinet in La Vie Parisienne (Offenbach), Huascar in Les Indes galantes (Rameau), as well as Demetrius in A Midsummer Night's Dream (Britten).
He then participated in several training courses in Canada and Europe, including the Toronto Summer Opera Workshop, the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute (Canada) and Opera Nuova (Canada). He is a laureate of the Fondation Royaumont (France) for the training course "German Baroque Polyphony: Heinrich Schütz".
David Turcotte made his debut as a soloist at the Opéra de Québec for the production Louis Riel (Harry Somers) in July 2017 as Elzéar Goulet and sung Johann in Werther (Massenet) at the Opéra du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (Canada). He also participated in the tour of the operetta La Belle Hélène (Offenbach) for the Jeunesses Musicales du Canada in 2018-2019 which was a huge success, both on the road and at the Quebec City Opera Festival.
Today in France, David Turcotte has perfected his skills at the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles, a leading centre for research, creation and production of the rich French baroque musical heritage. He has participated in several recordings, including Le Destin du nouveau siècle (Campra) on the "Château de Versailles Spectacle" label.
